What is Special about the X35 Search Coil?
The ORX comes with a nine-inch X35 search coil. There are three sizes for the X35 coils ranging from

These have a frequency range of 3.7 to 27.7 kHz, totaling 35 frequencies. The sensitivity of these frequencies helps you differentiate what metals your detector is finding. Of these six programs, the remote control has:

Why is the ORX Telescoping Shaft Special?
The ORX’s telescoping S rod is exceptionally lightweight. It can easily extend and adjust to fit the prospector. It also collapses so that it is simple to carry in a backpack. The entire weight of the ORX is just under 2 pounds.

XP ORX Vs. Equinox 800 – How Does the ORX Compare?
There are many differences between the ORX and the Equinox 800. One of the first things noted is the price difference. The ORX can be bought for under 700 dollars, while the Equinox 800 is closer to 1,00 dollars.
The Equinox 800 is waterproof up to ten feet. It is not a wireless device, but the display remote is larger than the ORX, making it easier to read. It comes with an 11-inch SmartCoil, suitable for general detecting needs.
At nearly three pounds, the Equinox weighs a bit more than the ORX, and the shaft of the 800 is not collapsible, so it will not be as easy to transport. Interestingly the Equinox 800 does come with wireless Bluetooth headphones instead of the wired headset of the ORX bundle.
According to The History Digger, the XP ORX is more sensitive to finds than the 800, and you can distinguish the tones more quickly as you learn them. He says the XP ORX is very durable, and the recovery speed when swinging the ORX is breakneck.
